Photographing and documenting the Wildlife Greater Brisbane has to offer

What is Project Seek?

A project focused on educating myself and others by raising awareness of wildlife in the Greater Brisbane area.

Rules

  1. I cannot use photos that are taken at a wildlife sanctuary or zoo. The photos for the project have to be 100% wild.
  2. I have to use only new photos, none older than 1 year. This is to set a consistent standard and look.
  3. For the photo/video to count when crossing it off the list, it has to be decent, a great capture, not just an average image/clip.

Who?

I will be focusing on exploring the areas listed in the book to find specific species. I will then share what I capture with you.

When?

This project starts today and will run until I have highlighted every species in the book, which may take a longggg time. At this stage, I am excluding fish, worms, crustaceans, and molluscs. I may add these later on.

Where?

I will be posting behind-the-scenes content as well as the final photos and footage on my website and all social media channels from 1 to whatever the number ends up being.

How?

I will be posting weekly and will put the name Project Seek in the title as well as create a playlist so you can follow along. Every time I find a species and have captured a good photo of it, I will cross it off the list. At this stage, I will choose a specific area on the map to explore, and may visit that location several times and at different times of the day to see different species, rather than just focusing on looking for one type of animal.

Research

I will be utilising the "Wildlife of Greater Brisbane" Book, iNaturalist, and Google Gemini for research at this stage.
