Project Seek - #3 - Channel-billed Cuckoo

Location: This noisy birdy was photographed while exploring the top end of Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha.

Fact: They are colloquially known as "Stormbirds" because their arrival in Brisbane (typically between August and October) coincides with the start of the spring storm season. They often work in pairs to infiltrate a nest. The male will fly low and "distract" the crows or currawongs, leading them away on a chase while the female slips into the nest to lay her egg.
